DescriptionParallel programming is critical for efficiently using not only the current and future generation large-scale supercomputing platforms but also the now ubiquitous manycore and multi-core processors found in commodity hardware. There is a need for developing the workforce skilled at parallel programming. Therefore, we propose a beginner-level hands-on parallel programming session. Those participating in this session, will learn about the Interactive Parallelization Tool (IPT) that is designed for parallelizing serial C/C++ applications semi-automatically.

In this beginner-level training session, we will provide an overview of the basic concepts of MPI. We will introduce the trainees to the Interactive Parallelization Tool (IPT) that is designed for parallelizing serial C/C++ programs semi-automatically.

Prerequisites: Experience working in a Linux environment, and familiarity with C/C++/Fortran or any other programming language.
